Lifeguard Training
Become a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross. Here’s your chance to build your resume and show the world what you can do. Take this fun and exciting course to get certified in Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR/AED. (Completion of course does not guarantee employment). Must be `15 1/2 before 1st day of class. Must complete online course prior to in person sessions- SIGN UP EARLY!

Participation requirements
All Participants must complete a pre-course swim evaluation prior to starting class. Pre-course swim evaluation includes:
- Swimming 150 yards using the front crawl, breastroke or combination of both.
- Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs.
- Time event within 1minute, 40 seconds.
STUDENTS MUST HAVE PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS TO REGISTER FOR ONLINE PORTION OF CLASS.

Junior guards take an intermediate lifeguard course that will teach them the fundamentals of lifeguarding and working for the recreation district. After this one-week course, junior guards sign up for a 2-week (6 hour) volunteer program where they will put their newly honed skills to use. Junior guards will receive a t-shirt and get to work alongside our team!

Course consists of
- 1 week, 4 days of instruction and in-water JR lifeguard training inthe mornings.
- Followed by three - 2 hour work-study guided work / shadow(orientation, how to get things done)
- Session 1: June 17 – 20
